DBASC CONSULTANCY
Management consultancy that moves the work forward.
Understand what is happening, establish what needs to change and follow the improvement through to delivery.
I work with owners, directors and operational leaders facing unclear responsibilities, inconsistent processes or limited confidence in the information they receive. Together, we establish a practical response that fits the organisation and its resources.
A clear starting point.
What is becoming difficult to manage?
What effect is it having on the business?
What would a satisfactory outcome look like?
These questions establish the basis for a defined assignment, with an agreed scope and clear deliverables.
WHEN TO BRING IN SUPPORT
Recognise the point where something needs to change.
Growth has stretched the organisation
Informal arrangements that once worked now depend on constant intervention. New people, additional sites or greater workloads have exposed gaps in ownership and coordination.
The same problems keep returning
Complaints, delays or audit findings are addressed individually, but the pattern continues. Management needs to understand the underlying cause and whether previous actions were effective.
Management needs a reliable picture
Reports take time to assemble and different departments offer different explanations. You need a clearer connection between commitments, responsibilities, current performance and supporting evidence.
FOUR WAYS TO WORK TOGETHER
Choose the support the problem requires.
An assignment can begin with investigation, move into implementation or provide continuing management support. The scope is agreed around the outcome you need.
UNDERSTAND THE POSITION
Operational review
A focused examination of how the business, department or process actually operates. Trace requirements through decisions, handovers and completed work to identify where control becomes uncertain.
Suitable when the symptoms are visible but the cause is unclear, or when management needs an evidence-based view before deciding what to change.
Agreed outputs can include a findings summary, identified control gaps and a prioritised improvement plan.
IMPROVE HOW WORK IS DONE
Business process improvement
Reshape a process around its intended outcome. Clarify ownership, simplify handovers, address duplicated effort and establish practical decision and approval routes.
Suitable when the organisation knows where work is slowing down or becoming inconsistent and needs help putting a better arrangement into practice.
Agreed outputs can include revised process flows, responsibility definitions, implementation actions and measures for reviewing effectiveness.
CONNECT THE MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE
Management systems consultancy
Bring policies, processes, responsibilities, risks and evidence into a coherent management system. Incorporate relevant ISO requirements into the way the organisation operates.
Suitable when systems have developed separately, documentation has become difficult to maintain or a changing organisation needs a more consistent approach.
Agreed outputs can include a system structure, requirements and responsibility mapping, documentation priorities and review arrangements.
MAINTAIN ATTENTION AND FOLLOW-THROUGH
Retained management assurance
Provide a regular, structured challenge to progress, performance and outstanding issues. Examine evidence with management and help responsible people follow agreed actions through.
Suitable when the organisation needs continuing support to maintain focus, assess recurring problems and review whether improvements are working.
Agreed outputs can include periodic reviews, action follow-up, evidence checks and concise reports highlighting decisions required.
HOW AN ASSIGNMENT WORKS
An agreed scope. A practical route forward.
01
Establish the requirement
Discuss the problem, its impact and the outcome you need. Agree the scope, deliverables, access requirements, responsibilities and commercial terms before the assignment begins.
02
Examine and improve
Work with the people involved, follow real examples and review evidence. Establish the causes of difficulty and develop changes that are achievable with the available resources.
03
Follow through and review
Assign implementation actions and establish how completion and effectiveness will be assessed. Where implementation or follow-up support is included, review the evidence against the agreed outcome.
THE METHOD BEHIND THE WORK
Define, Communicate, Assure.
My consultancy approach uses DCA to connect management intent with actual delivery. Are requirements clear and achievable? Do people understand their responsibilities? What evidence shows that the intended result is being achieved?
These questions help distinguish between a poorly defined process, a resource constraint, a communication gap and a failure to follow through. The response can then address the cause.

WORKING WITH DAVID BOWMAN
Management perspective. Practical investigation.
My experience combines business ownership, management-system development and lead auditing across seven ISO standards. I use that experience to question how the organisation works and help management establish a workable response.
You retain responsibility for business decisions and the resources committed to them. My role is to bring structure to the investigation, challenge assumptions and support the agreed work through to its defined outcome.
Where Zebsoft fits
I am also co-founder of Zebsoft. Where a connected platform would help sustain operational control, we can assess its suitability against your requirements.
A consultancy engagement does not require a Zebsoft subscription. Any software or implementation proposal is discussed explicitly.
